Betty Jane Hale Dingess 1941-2011

FLATWOODS — Betty Jane Hale Dingess, 70, of Flatwoods, was surrounded by her loving family as she left this earth for her heavenly home Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011.

Born Feb. 14, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Alderson Douglas and Zella Faye Barker Hale.

In heaven, she joined her loving husband, James Paul Dingess. She is also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Dingess was a homemaker and had enjoyed working as the coordinator of the Greenup County Senior Citizen’s Center. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and served God many years at Flatwoods First Baptist Church.

Surviving are her four daughters, Andrea (Jeffrey) Adkins of Russell, Susan (Jacob) Hoff of Ashland, Pamela Cain of Marietta, Ga., and Linda (Tracy) Frye of Logan, W.Va.; seven grandchildren, Angela Hensley, Shannon (Scott) Lynd, Ashley Lively, Tara (Daniel) Rakes, Matthew (Rebekah) Cain, Alan Cain and Clay Cain; and nine adoring great-grandchildren, Noah Worthington, Gabriel Worthington, James-Elijah Lynd, Samuel Lynd, London Hensley, Dylan Rakes, Caleb Rakes, Brayden Rakes and Julia Cain. Also surviving are three sisters, Jean Carper, Arbutus Killen and Naomi Ward, all of Logan.

Family and friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10, 2011, at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011, at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Rice and Father John Noe officiating. Burial will follow in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods.
