Allene Miller McMahan

FLATWOODS — Allene Miller McMahan, 77, of Flatwoods, went home to be with her Savior on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011, in Cornerstone Hospital in Huntington, W.Va.  Mrs. McMahan was born Nov. 2, 1933, in Pedro, Ohio, a daughter of the late Vinson and Verna Yates Miller. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Claude Arthur McMahan; three brothers, Luther, Jack and R.B. Miller; three sisters, Bertha Wilson, Verna Keeton and Thelma Hilburn; and a grandson, Hunter Callihan.  She was a homemaker and a member of Ashland Pentecostal Holiness Church. She enjoyed reading her Bible and listening to Christian music.Mrs. McMahan is survived by three sons, Stan (Darlene) Miller of Flatwoods, Steve (Valorie) Miller of Louisa and Layne (Shannon) Miller of Ashland; a daughter, Lynne (Michael) Callihan of Flatwoods; 16 grandchildren, Tyler Callihan, Stanley Miller, Belinda Hathcock, Michelle Dobbins, Jeremy Miller, Brandy Lewis, Justin Miller, Morgan Miller, Gene Miller, Mike Arbaugh, Michael Miller, Michelle Bishop, Nicholas Miller, Scott Miller, Tanner Miller, Tristan Miller and Lexie Callihan; 27 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011, at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods by Pastor Ron Evans and the Rev. Lloyd L. Bailey.
