Ann L. Oakes Vallance, 86, of Flatwoods, KY passed away Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Trinity Station Retirement Community in Flatwoods, KY. Mrs. Vallance was born August 5, 1926, in Chelyan, WV, a daughter of the late Melvin D. and Haley Tincher Oakes.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Theodore “Ted” Vallance Jr. in August 3, 2007 and three brothers. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Flatwoods; a member of the Women’s Auxiliary for Flatwoods Fire Department; and a member of the Greenbo Pathfinder Camping Club. She is survived by five sons:  Gary (Carrie) Vallance of Ashland, KY, Roger (Pam) Vallance of Ashland, KY, Randall (Angie) Vallance of Russell, KY, Michael (Sandy) Vallance of Raceland, KY, Kevin T. (Kathy) Vallance of Huntington, WV; 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. The funeral will be at 2 pm Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY with Minister J.R. Gullett officiating.  Entombment will be at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods, KY.
