Arbutus Akers Kazee, 84, of Flatwoods, KY passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Ashland, KY.
Mrs. Kazee was born September 19, 1933 in Decatur, OH to the late Andrew and Wyona Hopkins Akers.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Kazee was preceded in death by her loving husband Elmer Kazee Jr., two sons: Richard David Kazee and Timothy Ray Kazee, and eleven siblings.
Mrs. Kazee was a seamstress for Delmars and Corman’s. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, and working in her church, First Pentecostal Church in Flatwoods, KY where she was a member. Her life revolved around caring for and spending time with her family and her precious dog, Abby.
Mrs. Kazee is survived by two children; a son, Robert Andrew (Peg) Kazee of Russell, KY and one daughter, Deanna (Steve) Smith of Greenup, KY; six grandchildren: Chasidy Watkins, Mark Kazee, Gabe Kazee, Joshua Francis, Andrea Carver, and Aaron Francis; nine great grandchildren: Emily, Eli, Ben, Casey, Morgan, Kaleb, Steven, Madison, and Trent II; two sisters: Betty Cox and Carolyn Akers, both of Ironton, OH; and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral service will be at 7 P.M. on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at First Pentecostal Church in Flatwoods, KY with Pastor Shane Cox, Rev. Brian Daniels, and Rev. Chris Hammond officiating.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5-7 P.M. at the church.
There will be a graveside service at 1 P.M. on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Kirby Flatts Cemetery in Boyd, KY.
