Betty Granny Evans Waddell

Betty “Granny” Evans Waddell, 84, of Flatwoods, KY passed away on Monday, October 26, 2015, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY. Mrs. Waddell was born on April 28, 1931; a daughter of the late Fred Douglas and Eva Jane Stephenson Evans.  She was also preceded in death by: her husband, Carl R. Waddell, Sr., a son, Carl R. Waddell, Jr., son-in-law, William Kent Marie, five sisters: Agnes Conn, Louise Mays, Almeda Crum, Janice Reynolds, and Shirley Middleton; three brothers: Fred Evans, Jr., Warren Dee Evans, and Eric Evans. Mrs. Waddell was a homemaker and of the Baptist Faith. Her memory will be cherished by her children:  Patricia Marie and Connie Daniels, both of Flatwoods, KY, and Keith (Sonia) Waddell of Columbus, OH; a daughter-in-law, Lee Waddell of Catlettsburg, KY, a brother, Jan (Darline) Evans of Mansfield, OH; two sister-in-laws: Phyllis Evans of Olive Hill, KY and Opal Evans of Grayson, KY; nine grandchildren: Christopher Waddell, Michael (Kate) Daniels, James “Bo” (Lisa) McDaniel, Gary (Jessica) Daniels, Jr., Rod (Holly) McDaniel, Nikki Waddell, Jessica Waddell, Carla Waddell, and Kaycee Waddell; thirteen precious great grandchildren, including Alyssa, who lived with her for several years. The funeral will be at 2 PM on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY with Dr. Tom Melvin officiating.  Burial will follow at Tick Ridge Cemetery in Olive Hill, KY. Visitation will be from 12 PM until service time on Thursday.  Condolences may be left at baileyfamilyfuneralhome.com.
