Betty Jane Gunter

Betty Jane Bellamy Gunter, 89, of Ashland, KY, passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY.

Ms. Gunter was born April 9, 1934, in Ashland, KY, to the late Roy Kenneth Bellamy and Rebecca Jane Riffe Bellamy.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Gunter was preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty-three years, Richard Allen Gunter; and her brother, Roy Kenneth Bellamy Jr.

Betty was a lifelong homemaker and enjoyed cooking. She was a graduate of Ashland High School and a member of Pollard Baptist Church in Ashland, KY.

Ms. Gunter is survived by her daughter, Kenna Jane (Harlan) Clark of Wurtland, KY; a cousin, Wanda (Clarence “Mac”) McGaughey of Russell, KY; and a host of extended family and friends.

A private graveside service will be held at Ashland Cemetery in Ashland, KY, with Rev. Jason A. Bailey officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Community Hospice Care Center (2330 Pollard Rd, Ashland, KY 41101).

The family has entrusted Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY, with the arrangements.
