Betty Vallance

Betty Walker Vallance, 83, of Flatwoods, KY passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. Mrs. Vallance was born on March 14, 1929 in Cokesburg, PA, a daughter of the late Curtis and Arretta Murdock Setser Walker. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Wilmont Vallance, and a brother Billy E. Walker. Mrs. Vallance was a cook at the Russell High School and a cook at Raceland Car Shop Commissary. She attended the Faith Christian Assembly. She was the first president and founder of McDowell Elementary School PTA. She enjoyed being a mother to anyone around her. She is survived by her loving children: a daughter, Barbara Kay Vallance; and a son, Wynston Dale “Bozo” (Libby) Vallance, all of Flatwoods. She is also survived by two grandchildren: Stephen Michael (Noelle) Vallance of Gahanna, OH and Christie Ann (Rodger) Raybourn of Ashland, K Y; three great grandchildren, Derek, A.J., and Kylie Raybourn; and a sister Delores Yale of Springfield, IL. The funeral will be at 2 PM on Friday, January 11, 2013 at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods with Pastor Tim Osborne officiating. Burial will follow in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods.
