Bonnie Lou Boyle Elswick

Bonnie Lou Boyle Elswick, 73, of Russell, KY went home to be with her Lord, on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY. Mrs. Elswick was born January 19, 1940 in Greenup Co, KY, a daughter of the late Arthur and Opal Alexander Boyle.  She was also preceded in death by two brothers: Dallas and Gilford Boyle, a sister, Wanda Sperry; and a nephew, Timothy K. Snoddy. She loved being a homemaker and caring for her family, especially her grandchildren. She delighted in summer canning, was an excellent cook, and a proficient seamstress.  She was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Flatwoods, KY, and a member of Gideons International Auxiliary Greenup County Camp. She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Virgil Elswick;  two children:  Barry (Terri Ann) Elswick of Cape Coral, FL and Heather (Mark) Kirk of Flatwoods, KY; four grandchildren:  Aaron Elswick, Matt Elswick, Brice Kirk, and Emory Kirk; a brother: Garal (Sondra) Boyle of Argillite, KY; four sisters: Joann (Clinton) Snoddy of Wilmore, KY, Theda (Garry) Eldridge of Lexington, KY, Sharon (Gerald) Payne of Ashland, KY,  Bernice (Sandy) Williams of Fort Walton Beach, FL and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. The funeral will be at 11 AM on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Temple Baptist Church in Flatwoods, KY with Pastor Jim Pridemore and Associate Pastor Ben Gentile officiating.  Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods, KY. The visitation will be from 6 to 9 PM at the church.  Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods has been entrusted with the arrangements.  Online condolences may be sent on the family’s behalf to baileyfamilyfuneralhome.com.
