Charles E. Moore, 91, of Flatwoods, KY, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY. Charles was born on January 30, 1931, in Ashland, KY, to the late Clyde and Stella Chinn Moore. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by a son, Charles Michael Moore; a stepson, William Anthony Porter; his brother, Richard Moore; and his sister Dorothy Calvin. Mr. Moore was a retired maintenance man from AK Steel Coke Plant in Ashland, KY. He was a United States Air Force veteran and Purple Heart recipient who served during the Korean War. He loved traveling and taking cruises. He was a member of Faith Christian Assembly in Flatwoods, KY. Charles is survived by his loving wife, Shirlene Kirk Porter Moore of Flatwoods, KY; two sons, Robert Christopher (Tina) Moore of Flatwoods, KY and James Moore of Ashland, KY; four daughters, Debrah Lynn (Eddie) White of Lakeland, FL, Beverly Ann (Stan) Hoover of Lakeland, FL, Pamela Ann (Brent) Ross of Colorado, and Cindy Louise (Keith) Blake of South Point, OH; a stepson Rodney Allen (Barbara) Porter of Plant City, FL; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends. A funeral service will be held at 12 o’clock (Noon) on Friday, October 14, 2022, at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY with Pastor Dwight Bailey officiating. Interment will follow at Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland, KY.
