Charles Martin

Charles A. Martin, 81, of Flatwoods, KY, formerly of Lick Creek, KY, passed away at his residence on Sunday, July 14, 2013. Mr. Martin was born on April 5, 1932, in Draffin, KY, a son of the late Charles Alfred and Mary Jane Damron Martin.  He was also preceded in death by a son, Adam Wade Martin; 3 sisters:  Louise Justice, Myrtle Webb, and Cora Ward; 5 brothers:  Billie H. Martin, George Martin, James Clarence Martin, Lonnie Martin; and two infant siblings. Mr. Martin was self-employed with Martin Trucking, and also employed as a mine foreman with Russell Fork Coal Company.  He was a Korean War Army Veteran, a member of Thomas C. Cecil #375 F & AM in Pikeville, KY, a member of El Hasa Shrine in Ashland, and an Honorary Member of Smith Lodge #775 F & AM. Mr. Martin is survived by his loving wife of over 45 years, Mrs. Mary Frances Harrah Martin; 3 sons:  Garis Dale Martin of Whitehouse, OH; Chip and Ronda Martin of Raceland, KY, and Ryan Andrew and Nikki Martin of Raceland, KY. He also is survived by six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The funeral will be at 11 AM on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at Lick Creek Holiness Church in Lick Creek, KY with Pastor Ray Sayers and Pastor Shane Cox.  Entombment will be in Annie E. Young Cemetery in Shelbiana, KY. The visitation will be on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, starting at 6 PM at Lick Creek Holiness Church in Lick Creek, KY.  A Masonic service will be held at 6 PM by the Thomas C. Cecil Lodge.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Community Hospice 1480 Carter Ave. Ashland, KY  41101.  Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY has been entrusted with arrangements.  Online condolences may be left at baileyfamilyfuneralhome.com.
