Chester Ray Barker

Chester Ray Barker, 52, of Flatwoods, KY went to his heavenly home on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, KY. Mr. Barker was born on August 19, 1964 in Russell, KY; a son of the late Douglas and Josephine Horn Barker.  He was also preceded in death by a step-son, Curtis Douglas and a brother, John Wayne "Buddy" Barker. Mr. Barker was a heating and cooling technician, and an installer for the former C&H Heating and Cooling in Greenup, KY. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, but for the last year, he really enjoyed attending First Pentecostal Church in Flatwoods, KY. Mr. Barker is survived by his wife, Deloris "Lois" Douglas Barker of Flatwoods, KY; a step-son, Johnny Douglas of Huntington, WV; a Granddaughter (daughter), Caelynn Douglas at home; three brothers: Sonny (Joyce) Barker of Summersville, South Carolina, Larry (Bernice) Barker, and Steve (Susie) Barker, both of Greenup, KY; five sisters: Joyce (Donald) Nelson of Argillite, KY, Jean (Jerry) Bullion,  Carol (James) Bullion, Kay (Phillip) Bullion, Rosemary (Bobby) Melvin, all of Greenup, KY; a sister-in-law, Jenny Barker of Catlettsburg, KY; and a host of extended family and dear friends. The funeral will be at 6pm on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY, with Pastor Shane Cox officiating.  Burial will follow in Danleyton Missionary Cemetery in Greenup, KY.
