Delilah Ruth Fields

Delilah Ruth Porter Fields, 70, of Ashland, KY, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at South Shore Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Ruth was born on June 12, 1954, in Ashland, KY, to the late Frances Marion Porter Jr. and Zella Mae Johnson Porter.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by a son, Phillip Fields, and a sister, Brenda Moore.

Ruth was a homemaker who loved caring for her boys. She was very crafty and enjoyed drawing, painting, quilting, and crocheting. She attended the Assemblies of God in Ashland, KY.

Ruth is survived by three sons, David (Jennifer) Fields of Milton, WV, Benjamin Fields, and Kevin (Cassie) Fields of Parkersburg, WV; four grandchildren: Samuel, Daniel, Campbell, and Rowan Fields; two sisters, Joyce (Mark) Dishman and Donna (Jeff) Smith both of Greenup, KY; and a host of extended family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at noon on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Pentecostal Holiness Tabernacle (906 McCowan St, Flatwoods, KY 41139) with Rev. J.E. Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Ashland Cemetery in Ashland, KY.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the church.

The family has entrusted Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY, with the arrangements.
