Denver Dee Yates, 70, of Flatwoods, KY, passed away on Friday, August 11, 2017 at Trinity Station Retirement Community in Flatwoods, KY. Mr. Yates was born December 6, 1946, a son to the late Dennis Raymond and Grace Mae Baker Yates. In addition to his parents, Mr. Yates was preceded in death by one brother, Preston Raymond “Pat” Yates and two sisters, Helen Wright and Hilda Russell. Mr. Yates was a 1965 graduate of Russell High School, worked as a laborer for CSX and a member IBFO union for the railroad, was a member of the American Legion, Elwood Stringer Post 325; a Corporal for the United States Marine Corps. and a Vietnam Veteran. He was also of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Yates is survived by two loving sons, Greg Dee (Tracy Ann) Yates of Jordan, MN. and Allen Ray Yates of San Angelo, TX; three brothers: Harley (Betty) Yates of West Jefferson, OH, Perry (Sherry) Yates, Bill (Erin) Wright both of Flatwoods, KY; four sisters: Diane (Buck) McGraw, Brenda Conley, Bonnie (Gary) Salyers, Kathy Henry all of Flatwoods, KY; four grandchildren: James, Tony, and Patrick Yates, and Sedona Posch; and a host of extended family and friends. A funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY with Deacon David Daniels officiating. Visitation will be from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 and an hour before the service on Wednesday.
