Donald Thomas Cotton Nelson

Donald Thomas "Cotton" Nelson 79,  of Argillite, KY passed away on Monday, June 12, 2017 at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY. He was born on April 28, 1938 in Greenup, KY; a son of the late George Washington Nelson and Bertha Mae Belt Nelson. He is preceded in death by three brothers: George, Bob, and Caleb Nelson; two sisters, Oma Jane Rowan and Mary Mae Bush. Mr. Nelson served in the U.S. Navy and was a truck driver for Landstar. Mr. Nelson was a collector, enjoyed playing the guitar, and spending time with his family. He was of the Christian Faith. He is survived by his loving wife, Juanita Joyce Barker Nelson of Argillite, KY; one step-daughter, Sheila (Tim) Miller of Flatwoods, KY, one sister, Barbara Williams of Flatwoods, KY; two step-grandchildren, four step-great grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends. A funeral will be held at 1 pm Friday, June 16, 2017 at the Wurtland Church of God in Wurtland, KY with Rev. Roger Daniels, Brian McReynolds, and Pastor Henry Montgomery officiating. Burial will be at Gambill-Nelson Cemetery in Argillite, KY. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 15, 2017 from 6 to 8 pm and one hour before the service at Wurtland Church of God.
