Donna Marie Welch Young

Donna Marie Welch Young, 67, of Ashland, KY, passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2020, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY. Ms. Young was born June 19, 1953, in Greenup, KY to the late James W. and Marie Holt Welch. In addition to her parents, Ms. Young was preceded in death by eight siblings: John William Welch, Betty June Horn, Richard D. Welch, Glada Ann Crum, Frances Carolyn Horn, Bobby David Welch, and Paul Edward Welch. Ms. Young was a retired nurse who loved traveling, reading, and quilting. Donna was a 1971 graduate of Wurtland High School and a 1976 graduate of Pulaski, Arkansas Vo-Tech School of Practical Nursing. She attended Wurtland Nazarene in Wurtland, KY. Ms. Young is survived by her loving son, Jason (Roxy) Young of San Francisco, CA; a sister, Georgia Kay Bruce of South Shore, KY; many beloved nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 1 P.M. on Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY with Pastor Scott Hill officiating. Visitation will be from 12 P.M. until time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
