Doris Ann Burgess Riffe

Doris Ann Burgess Riffe, 80, of Flatwoods, KY, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2022, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY surrounded by her loved ones. Doris was born on August 24, 1941, in Huntington, WV to the late James and Cornelia Duke Burgess. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Riffe was preceded in death by her brother, Gary Burgess. Mrs. Riffe was a school bus driver for Russell Independent School District. She was a member of the Catlettsburg Pentecostal Church of God in Catlettsburg, KY. Doris is survived by her loving husband of sixty years, John Riffe of Flatwoods, KY; a son, David Riffe of Groveport, OH; a daughter, Tammy Riffe Boren of Groveport, OH; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and extended family and friends. A funeral service will be held at 1 P.M. on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY with Pastor Greg Wirzfeld and Roger Wireman officiating. Burial will follow at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Russell, KY. Visitation will be from 12 P.M. until the time of the funeral service on Thursday at the funeral home.
