Dorothy Lewis Douglas

Dorothy Lewis Douglas, 90, of Flatwoods, KY, passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2021, at her residence surrounded by her loved ones. Mrs. Douglas was born May 30, 1931, in Elliott, KY, to the late Elisha and Gretta Cassell Lewis. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Douglas was preceded in death by two grandsons: David Antis and Elijah Kirk; two brothers: John L. and Hobert Dewey Lewis; and two sisters: Della Scott and Elizabeth Garris. Mrs. Douglas was a wonderful mother and housewife. She enjoyed gardening and had a love for sewing and attending TOPS in Flatwoods, KY. Dorothy was of the Christian faith. Dorothy may have been born in 1931, but her life began in 1977, when she married the love of her life, Louis Douglas of Flatwoods, KY. In addition to her husband, Dorothy is survived by her two sons, William (Cathy) Reed of Port St. Lucie, FL and Jeffrey Douglas of Wheelersburg, OH; five daughters, Connie Antis of Winchester, KY, Kathy (Patrick) Beyler of Madison, WI, Neva Kirk of Flatwoods, KY, Dena Reed of Flatwoods, KY, and Cynthia Franz of Ashland, KY; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Elisha Lewis, Jr. of Greenup, KY and Atlee “Ike” Lewis of Greenup, KY; and a host of extended family and friends. A funeral service will be held at 12 P.M. (Noon) on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY, with Rev. Jason A. Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Russell, KY. Visitation will be 11 A.M.-12 P.M. on Saturday at the funeral home.   Condolences can be expressed at www.baileyfamilyfuneralhome.com.
