Dr. Homer Virgil “Doc” Bailey, 95, of Flatwoods, KY passed away on Monday, June 06, 2016 at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, KY.
Dr. Bailey was born on February 4, 1921 in York, KY; a son of the late John W. and Sarah Moore Bailey. He was also preceded in death by nine brothers and one sister.
Dr. Bailey was a WW II Army veteran and a member of Little Jewell Church of the Old Regular Baptist in Westwood, KY.
He was a graduate and received his Doctorate from Lincoln Chiropractic College in Indianapolis, IN. He had his Chiropractic office in Flatwoods for thirty one and a half years. He was past president of Kentucky Association of Chiropractors.
He was a mason and past master with the Harrison Fullerton Masonic Lodge #937 in South Shore, KY. He was a member of El Hasa Shrine Temple in Ashland, KY, and the Scottish Rites. He was also a federally certified welder.
Dr. Bailey is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Stella “Ted” Branham Bailey, and four sons: Mark Alan Bailey and Dean Scott Bailey, both of Flatwoods, KY, Kevin (Tammy) Bailey of St. Cloud, FL, and Jack Barton Bailey of Westwood, KY.
The funeral will be at 11 am on Friday, June 10, 2016 in Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY with Elder Terry Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery NE in Greenup County, KY.
