Elsie Mae Marcum

Elsie Mae Marcum, 92, of Flatwoods, KY went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 28, 2013 in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY. Mrs. Marcum was born December 25, 1920 in Muses Mills, KY, a daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Hamm Morrison.  She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Bill Maynard; her second husband, James Marcum; four brothers:  Clarence, Robert, Walter, and Archie Morrison; and three sisters:  Mary Giles, Endie Pitts, and Alice Lemmings. Mrs. Marcum was a welder and burned in the shipyards in Baltimore, Maryland during WW II, and a core operator for Sylvania.  She was a member Hensley Hollow Pentecostal Church of Christ and Rivers of Life Fellowship. She is survived by a son, Walter Elmer (Lucille) Maynard of Wurtland, KY; two daughters: Betty (Norman) Thompson of Raceland, KY and Nina (Gaylord) Potter of Flatwoods, KY; two sisters: Cora Coon of Cleveland, OH and Arsula Truitt of Kokomo, Indiana; 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren. The funeral will be at 1 PM on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY with Ministers Angi Moore and Jimmy Morrison officiating.  Burial will follow at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods, KY. The visitation will be from 6 to 9 PM on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at the funeral home.  Webcasting of the funeral and online condolences may be sent to baileyfamilyfuneralhome.com.
