Elvin Estep

Elvin Estep, 86, of Ashland, KY passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at his residence. Mr. Estep was born on October 28, 1929 in Salyersville, KY; a son of the late Omer and Emma Lykins Estep.  He was also preceded in death by his loving wife of sixty two years, Virginia Ann Arnett Estep.  He was also preceded in death a daughter, Judy Lynn Estep; a grandson, James Aubrey Estep; and several siblings. He was a member of Hoods Creek Enterprise Baptist Church.  He was a mason with the Fred M. Gross Lodge #953 F&AM in Ashland, KY. Mr. Estep will be sadly missed by his five children: Jimmy L. Estep and wife Sharon of Ashland, KY, Sussan Smith and husband Russell of Lexington, KY, Shelia Smith and husband Lonnie of Richmond, KY, Mark Anthony Estep and wife Susan of Ashland, KY, Matthew Dean Estep and wife Julie of Louisa; twelve grand children:  Leigh Ann (Roger) Ford, Jonathon Russell(Brenda) Smith, Melissa Gene (Jason) Davis, William Chase (Sara) Smith, Kimberly Estep, Mark (Mikailyn) Anthony II, Zachery Nicholas (Elizabeth) Anthony, Samantha Seimetz Anthony, Joshua Dean Estep, Tiffany Ann Estep, Kaitlyn Estep, and Andrew Estep; nine great grandchildren; four brothers: Oral Estep of Floyd Knobbs, IN, Elwood (Ruth) Estep of Salyersville, KY, Ual Paul Estep of Salem, Oregon, Linvel (Nancy) Estep of Dayton, OH; two sisters: Imogene Estep Gaines of Benita Springs, FL, and Phyllis (Albert) Angelestri of Venice, FL. The funeral will be at 11 AM on Monday, April 18, 2016 at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY with Pastor Ben Collier and Pastor Steve Fraley officiating.  Burial will follow at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods, KY. The visitation will be Sunday, April 17, 2016 from 3 to 6 PM at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his honor, to the Shiners’ Hospital at www.shrinershospitalsforchidren.org and to St. Jude Children Hospital at www.stjude.org.
