Emma A. Yates, 86, of Raceland, KY passed away on Wednesday, July 02, 2014 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY.
Mrs. Yates was born on February 14, 1928 in Flatwoods, KY; a daughter of the late Ivan and Rachel “Bessie” Clark Williams. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Randolph Yates, six brothers: Virgil, Charles, Walter, George, Estil, and Elmer Williams; and three sisters: Hazel Farace, Ruth Blevins, and Dorothy Hensley.
Mrs. Yates was a retired cook for McDowell School for over twenty seven years and a member of Freedom Worship Church of God in Greenup, KY.
She is survived by four children: Roger D. Yates, and his wife, Elaine of Bowling Green, KY; Pam Mathes and her husband, Tom of South Point, OH; Rick Yates and his wife, Kathy of Belleville, MI; and Curt Yates of Raceland, KY. She is also survived by a sister: Flora May George of South Webster, OH; several grandchildren, several great grandchildren, two great- great grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends.
The funeral will be at 2 pm on Sunday July 6, 2014 at Bailey Family Funeral Home with Rev. Donny McKenzie officiating. Burial will follow at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods, KY.
