Emmett E. “Junior” Boggess, Jr., 83, of Ashland passed away Friday, September 4, 2015 at his residence after a short illness. Junior was born July 28, 1932 in Sissonville, WV to the late Emmett, Sr. and Mary Miller Boggess.
Junior was a truck driver for all of his life, and a retired member of Teamsters 992. He served his country during the Korean War with the United States Army. He enjoyed NASCAR and basketball, but his biggest love was his family.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Dorothy Renfroe Boggess; children Roberta (Lewis) Fannin, Nancy Stephens, Terry (Sharon) Hensley, Marsha (Larry) Harr, Ronnie (Brenda) Boggess, and Sam (Wendy) Boggess; sisters Joy Mairs, Sherry Daniel, Teresa Goodwin, and Wanda Hemmings; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Bobby Boggess, sister Deloris Parrish, and grandson Stephen Hensley.
A funeral service will be held at Bailey Family Funeral Home – Flatwoods, KY at 1pm on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 with Bro. Stan Williams officiating. Friends may call from 11am – 1pm.
