Frances Aileen Adams

Frances Aileen Short Waddle Adams, 83, of Flatwoods, went Home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 16, 2019. She passed in Community Hospice Care Center after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family. Fran was born January 19, 1935, in Flatwoods, KY to the late John A. and Minerva Kirk Short. She was one of eleven children born into difficult times, which taught her the value of working hard, and loving family harder. When asked what her one most important core value was, Faith and Family was the immediate answer – each eternally intertwined with one another. She was known for how she cared for others, especially through her delicious food. Whenever she slowed down to take time for herself, it was mostly spent camping. She was a faithful member of Community Tabernacle and a retired custodian for Russell Independent School District. No matter the situation, she never met a stranger. She could be the life of the party one minute, then playing music or hand-feeding hummingbirds the next. Fran is survived by her husband of nearly 20 years, Charley Adams; siblings Louise (the late James) Salyers and Winston (Linda) Short; son Rick (Valerie) Waddle; grandchildren Ricky Waddle and Maggie Waddle; and great-grandson Waylon. She loved her husband’s family just as dearly, daughters Sandra Adams Moore and Karen Adams Colegrove; grandchildren David Moore, Travis Moore, and Ginger French; great-grandchildren Adam Woods, Eric Woods, Amber Pennington, and Jennifer Woods; and several great-great-grandchildren. A host of other friends and family, both by blood and by love, will never forget her place in their lives. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings Clementeen Short (stillborn), Lulie (Orville) Sexton, Mary (Robert Jr.) Carte, Viola (Robert) Clark, Earny Lee (Wilma) Short, Marvin Dallas Short (infant), Elfreda (Marvin) Hensley, and Christeen (Bo) Brown.   The family is being served by Bailey Family Funeral Home of Flatwoods, KY where a funeral will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2019. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens.
