George Ray Ferguson

George Ray Ferguson, 70, of Ashland, KY, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2019, at Huntington Health and Rehabilitation Center in Huntington, WV. Mr. Ferguson was born October 1, 1948, in Ashland, KY, to the late George Ferguson Jr. and Mabyn Marie Riffe Hopkins. Mr. Ferguson was a Car Salesman for various companies and a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran. He was a lifetime member of the AMVETS Post 95 in Greenup, KY; as well as a member of the VFW in Ashland, KY, American Legion Elwood Stringer Post 325 in Flatwoods, KY, Ashland Elks Post 350, and Ashland Moose Lodge Post 892. Mr. Ferguson is survived by one brother David M. (Gloria) Ferguson of Flatwoods, KY; three nephews, Joshua Huff of Westwood, KY, and Matthew and Jesse Ferguson both of Sacramento, CA; and a host of extended family and friends. There will be a graveside service Wednesday at 11 A.M. on June 19, 2019 at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East in Greenup, KY. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Mr. Ferguson’s honor to the Wounded Warrior Project (PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517).
