Georgia Kaye Welch Gumbert Bruce

Georgia Kaye Welch Gumbert Bruce, 74, of Worthington, KY, always wanted to go home. She made her final journey to her Heavenly home on Friday, November 26, 2021, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY. Kaye was born on May 29, 1947, in Wurtland, KY, to the late Jimmy and Marie Holt Welch. She was the ninth of ten children who also preceded her in death. Four brothers: John, Richard, David, and Paul Welch; and five sisters: Louise Newland, Betty Horn, Carolyn Horn, Glada Crum, and Donna Young. She loved to travel and go on long trips. She made friends with everyone she met. She enjoyed music, dancing, swimming, gardening, yard sales, and enjoyed cleaning house. She confessed Jesus Christ as her own personal Lord and Savior on January 30, 2005, and loved going to church. She was a member of the Wurtland Church of Nazarene in Wurtland, KY. Kaye is survived by her loving husband of thirty-eight years, Lloyd Jeffrey Bruce of Worthington, KY; three children: Tonya (Chris) Riffe of Worthington, KY, Todd Gumbert of Wurtland, KY, and Aaron (Becki) Gumbert of Flatwoods, KY; four grandchildren: Gage Gumbert, JaLeigh Gumbert, Baille Riffe, and Macie Riffe; former husband and father to her children, Raymond “Doc” Gumbert of Wurtland, KY; and a host of extended family and friends. A funeral service will be held at 1 P.M. on Monday, November 29, 2021, at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY with Pastor Scott Hill officiating.
