Ann Maynard

Ann Maynard, 88, of Ironton, OH, passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY.

Mrs. Maynard was born December 16, 1934, in Lawrence County, OH, to the late Sadie Margaret Bowman McClellan.

In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald Maynard of Charleston, WV and a son-in-law, Joe Allen of Ironton, OH.

Ann was a self-employed beautician in Greenup, KY and an accountant for Weight Watchers of West Virginia. She attended Ashland Beauty College in Ashland, KY. Ann enjoyed spending her downtime with her family and dog, Luna. She was of the Baptist faith.

Ann is survived by her son, Steven “Chico” (Trena Henderson) Vanover of Ironton, OH; a daughter, Lisa Allen of Ironton, OH; three grandchildren: Sara Vanover, Kristen (Brad Barcus) Allen, and Michelle Allen; three great-grandchildren: Maveric, Tank, and Mayler McFann; and her buddies JD Scott and Sharon Mullins; along with extended family and friends.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the Community Hospice staff for the wonderful care provided to their mother and Abbott Home Care.

A celebration of life service will be scheduled at a later date.
