Jack Bailey, 88, of Flatwoods, KY, passed away on Friday, February 25, 2022, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY.
Mr. Bailey was born August 4, 1933, in Flatwoods, KY, to the late Harry Bailey Sr. and Martha Short Bailey.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his son, Jack A. “Tony” Bailey; seven brothers: Howard, Harry Jr., Raymond, Clarence, Hiram, Paul, and Homer Bailey; and seven sisters: Mary Buck, Ruby Kirk, Gurtie Puckett, Opal Marion, Lucille Bailey, Mable Puckett, and Lula Belle Barnett.
Mr. Bailey was a self-employed house mover and owner of Bailey House Moving. He was known for moving over five hundred houses in our local area. He was nominated for Kentucky Colonial three times. He loved watching wrestling, feeding the birds and squirrels and going to the flea market.
He is survived by his daughter, Debbi Bailey of Flatwoods, KY and Anna (Scott) Fosson of Russell, KY; two grandchildren: Chris Fosson and Brooke Groves; four great-grandsons; a best friend, Deborah Stephens of Flatwoods, KY; his dog, Roxie; and a host of extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1 P.M. on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY with Rev. Lloyd L. Bailey and Rev. Brent Bailey officiating. Entombment will follow at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Russell, KY.
Visitation will be from 11 A.M. – 1 P.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
