James T. Norris Jr., 90, of Flatwoods, KY, passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2018, at Trinity Station Retirement Community in Flatwoods, KY. Mr. Norris was born November 3, 1928, in Ashland, KY, to the late James T. Norris Sr. and Frances Cochran Norris. In addition to his parents, Mr. Norris was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jane Bandy Norris, on daughter, Elizabeth “Libby” Norris Bogitch, and a son-in-law, Glen Bogitch. Mr. Norris was a publisher of the Ashland Daily Independent and a U.S. Air Force Veteran during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Norris received a Bachelor of Arts in English from Vanderbilt University. He attended First Presbyterian Church in Ashland, KY. Mr. Norris is survived by one son, James T. (Kelly) Norris III of Ashland, KY; two daughters, Susie (Jacob) Norris Epstein of Los Angeles, CA, and Frances Norris of Van Nuys, CA; five grandchildren: Clark (Abby) Norris, Jane Ann (Brent) Goodwin, and Sam, Natalie, and Thomas Epstein; three great-grandchildren, Anna and Kate Goodwin and James Bowman Norris; and a host of extended family and friends.
