Jane Ann Hale Smith

Jane Ann Hale Smith, 89, of Greenup, KY, passed away on Monday, April 19, 2021, at Wurtland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wurtland, KY, surrounded by her loved ones. Mrs. Smith was born on July 30, 1931, in Burlington, OH, to the late James A. and Ada Margaret Walker Hale. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert L. Smith; two granddaughters, Trina May Smith and Brittany Nicholson; a great-grandson, Elisha O’Ryan Smith; and her three brothers: John, Thomas, and William Hale. Jane Ann was a retired housekeeper for Knights Inn and a long-time member of the Flatwoods Pentecostal Holiness Tabernacle in Flatwoods, KY. She was a Sunday School Teacher for the primary class for over thirty years. She loved to read and her interests were peaked by various subjects. She was a very giving and compassionate person who was loved by many. Jane Ann is survived by her two sons, Rev. Jeffery E. (Donna) Smith and Steven R. (Deanna) Smith both of Greenup, KY; a daughter, Stephanie L (Russ) Thompson of Cannonsburg, KY; six grandchildren, Tiffany (Michael Sheron of Lexington, KY, Jennifer Smith of Russell, KY, Mariah (Kevin) King of Milwaukee, WI, Joshua (Rosalee) Smith of Flatwoods, KY, Valerie Lewis of Greenup, KY, and Tabitha Mullins of Greenup, KY; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary E. Cordle of Flatwoods, KY; and a host of extended family and friends. A funeral service will be held at 1 P.M. on Thursday, April 22, 2021, at Flatwoods Pentecostal Holiness Tabernacle in Flatwoods, KY, with Pastor Lloyd L. Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at Rosehill Burial Park in Ashland, KY. Visitation will be from 11 A.M. until the time of the service on Thursday, at the church.
