Janet Marie Cumpton

Janet Marie Cumpton, 83, of Raceland, KY, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2020, at her residence surrounded by her loved ones.Mrs. Cumpton was born on October 26, 1936, in Ashland, KY, to the late Bascum and Minnie Stallard.In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cumpton was preceded in death by her loving husband, Rev. George O. Cumpton; a grandson, Tristin; one brother, George “Buddy” Stallard; one sister, Wanda Hutton; and a daughter-in-law, Margaret Cumpton.Mrs. Cumpton was a dedicated pastor’s wife and homemaker. She loved being a mother to her six children. Janet was co-owner of Cumpton’s Printing Company and president of the Ladies Auxiliary at Christian Faith Outreach in Ashland, KY where she was a member.Mrs. Cumpton is survived by her three sons, George A (Wanda) Cumpton, of South Shore, KY, Timothy Cumpton, of Greenup, KY, and Dustin (Brenda) Cumpton of Argillite, KY; three daughters, Janet (Ronald) Fannin of Ashland, KY, Belinda Cumpton of Ashland, KY, and Teresa (Tim) Lewis of Wheelersburg, OH; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, James Stallard of Orlando, FL; one sister, Sandra Vanhorn of Ashland, KY; and a host of extended family and friends.A funeral service will be held at 1 P.M. on Monday, June 22, 2020, at Christian Faith Outreach in Ashland, KY, with Pastor Gene Easterling and Rev. Rick Jenkins officiating. Visitation will be from 11 A.M. until the time of the service on Monday at the church.Burial will follow at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods, KY.
