Jay Burton Jones

Jay Burton Jones, 71, of Flatwoods, KY, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY.

Mr. Jones was born to the late Burton Arnold and Virginia Leslie Jones on January 29, 1952, in West Lafayette, IN.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Jones was preceded in death by a son, Burton Jones.

Jay worked at the PRO Desk at Lowe’s in Russell, KY. He grew up surfing and fishing and enjoyed gardening. He was also quite the craftsman.

Mr. Jones is survived by a son, Robert Jones of Hawaii; a grandson, Devon (Leah Adkins) Jones; great-grandson, Oliver Jones; his brother, Peter Jones of Port St. Lucy, FL; his sister, Leslie (Greg) Meyers of Alabama; his significant other, Dana Slone of Flatwoods, KY; and a host of extended family and friends.

No services have been scheduled at this time.

The family has entrusted Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY, with the arrangements.
