GREENUP — Jerry Lee Pennington, 59, of Flatwoods, went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 18, 2011, surrounded by his family and friends, after an extended battle with lung disease. Jerry was born July 28, 1952, in Ashland, a son of the late Bill and Bertha Pennington. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Kay Brown. Jerry worked as a trucker his entire life and was owner and operator of Pennington Trucking. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, which he enjoyed most with his grandchildren.Jerry is survived by his spouse of 40 years, Sharon Kay Wells Pennington; a son, Harold Christopher Pennington of Cincinnati, Ohio; a daughter, Kim (Ben) Howard of Flatwoods; three grandchildren, Jacob Howard, Caleb Howard and Gabriella Hajjar; and three sisters, Kathy Callihan of Argillite, Pat (Robert) Keeton of Flatwoods, and Mag (Steve) Yates of Flatwoods. The funeral will be at noon, Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011, at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods by the Rev. Lloyd L. Bailey and Rev. Mike Hamilton. Burial will be in Short White Oak Cemetery in Flatwoods.The visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21st, 2011, at the funeral home.
