Jewell Brown

Jewell Brown, 95, of Cincinnati, OH, formerly of Ashland, KY, and Flatwoods, KY, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at Vitas Healthcare Inpatient Hospice Unit in Cincinnati.

Jewell was born October 28, 1928, in Wurtland, KY, to the late Walter Estil Lewis and Elisabeth Waggoner Lewis.

In addition to her parents, Jewell was preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty-six years, Frank Brown; a brother, Harold Lewis; and two sisters, Myrtle Rymer and Evelyn Marshall.

Jewell worked at a shoe factory in Ashland, KY, and later worked as a line worker in a laundry facility called Standard Overall Co. which was later called F.W. Means Co. of Ashland, KY. When the plant was transferred to Huntington, WV, Jewell decided to become a homemaker. Jewell attended the Flatwoods Pentecostal Holiness Tabernacle in Flatwoods, KY for many years. Upon moving to Cincinnati, OH, she attended the Pentecostal Holiness Tabernacle in Cincinnati.

Jewell is survived by her daughter, Debbie Stanton of Cincinnati, OH, and her granddaughter, Chelsea Stanton of Fayetteville, AR. She is also survived by, Clarence and June Stephens of Rush, KY, Gary and Cathy Stephens of Ashland, KY, Paula Kendall of Sissonville, WV, Joe and Jeannine Barker of Ashland, KY, Bill and Sherilyn Marshall of Cincinnati, OH, Jackie Kirby and Kara McCoy of Franklin Furnace, OH, Lisa Lewis of Ashland, KY, Linda Lewis of Lexington, KY, and special mention of Dave and Mollie Damron of Ashland, KY, Joanne and Gary Urban of Maysville, KY, Steve Ward of Salem, OR, Melinda Waller of Ironton, OH; two close friends, Wanda Pack and Patty Watts both of Ashland, KY, and a host of extended family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at noon on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at the Flatwoods Pentecostal Holiness Tabernacle (906 McCown Street, Flatwoods, KY 41139) with Pastor Lloyd L. Bailey and Rev. J.E. Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland, KY.

Visitation will be from 10 A.M. until the time of the service on Thursday at the church.
