Joanna Marie Lucas

Joanna Marie Holbrook Lucas, 94, of Bellefonte, KY, passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY, surrounded by her family.

Joanna was born January 19, 1930, in Ashland, KY, to the late Lawrence Holbrook and Grace Reeves Holbrook.

In addition to her parents, Joanna was preceded in death by her loving husband, Billy E. Lucas Sr.; a son, Michael Lee Rogers; and two brothers, James Holbrook and Vernon D. Holbrook.

Joanna was an inspector for the Owens Illinois Glass Factory in Huntington, WV, and was a member of Bridges Christian Church in Russell, KY.

She is survived by a son, Paul David (Brenda) Rogers of Ashland, KY; a daughter-in-law, Karen Rogers of Richmond, KY; five grandchildren: Paul David Rogers Jr., Steve (Britta) Rogers, Christopher Rogers, Kelly Rogers, and Patrick Rogers; several great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends. 

A funeral service will be held at noon on Friday, February 9, 2024, at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY, with Tom Lawson officiating. Burial will follow at Golden Oaks Cemetery in Ashland, KY.

Visitation will be one hour before the service on Friday at the funeral home.
