John W. “Johnny” Cassell, 65, of Ashland, KY passed away on Friday, November 1, 2013 at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, KY. Mr. Cassell was born on January 8, 1948, a son of the late Hatcher W. and Opal Caldwell Cassell. He was a computer technician for Addington Inc., Horizon, and International Coal Group.  He had also worked twenty three years for AK Steel.  He was an Army Veteran during the Vietnam era, stationed in Germany.  He enjoyed working and building computers.  He also had a degree in electricity and electronics.  He was an A+ certified computer technician. He is survived by his loving spouse of over thirty five years, Clara M. Evans Cassell; a sister: Gloria Jean Abrams of Montpelier, IN; 5 brother-in-laws:  Larry and Paggia Evans, Rick and Johnnie Evans, Ron and Linda Evans, Jim Evans, and Tim and Christina Evans; a sister-in-law: Mary and Tommy Romans; two nephews: Tony and Michael Abrams; and special friends:  William “Sonny” and Beverly Jackson, and Mark and Tara Oney. The funeral will be on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at 1 PM at Bailey Family Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Paynter, Rev. Tommy Romans, and Rev. Ron Evans.  Entombment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland, KY.
