John Wesley Hicks

John Wesley Hicks, 60, of Russell, KY, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022, at his residence. Mr. Hicks was born on April 21, 1962, in Ashland, KY, to the late Robert Lee and Lillian Pearl Smith Hicks. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Doretta Jean Pettress and a brother, Robert Lee Hicks. Mr. Hicks was a material handler for Chrysler and an accomplished pianist. He was of the Baptist faith. John is survived by his son, Aaron Michael Hicks of Ashland, KY; five sisters, Anna Mary Perkins of Ashland, KY, Sharon Kay Warner of Russell, KY, Janice Elaine Alexander of Ashland, KY, Nancy Lynn Menshouse of Ashland, KY, and Cathy Marie Gillum of Ashland, KY; a sister-in-law, Melody Kaye Hicks of Ashland, KY; and a host of extended family and friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date.   The family has entrusted Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY with the arrangements.
