Jordan Andrew Parks, 32, of Flatwoods, KY, passed away surrounded by his family on Monday, August 23, 2021, at UK Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington, KY.
Jordan was born on November 30, 1988, in Huntington, WV, to his loving parents, W. Mark and Julie (Jordan) Parks of Flatwoods, KY.
Jordan was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Earnest and Oddesty (Brinegar) Jordan and paternal grandparents, Walter L. and Mary (Thomas) Parks.
Jordan spent most of his career as a meter tech with an interstate natural gas pipeline company. He had a tremendous love of the outdoors and spending time in nature. Jordan was the happiest while camping, hunting, fishing, kayaking and being outside with friends and loved ones. One of his favorite seasons of life was working as a whitewater rafting guide on the New River in West Virginia.
He graduated from Ashland Community and Technical College in Ashland, KY with an Associate Degree in Industrial Maintenance. Jordan was a member of the Flatwoods Church of Christ in Flatwoods, KY.
In addition to his parents, Jordan is survived by his pride and joy, his son, Connor Wade Earnest Parks; a brother, Nathan (Davonne) Parks of Argillite, KY and their children: Lily, Grace, and Noah; a sister, Anna (Corey) Bean of Alexandria, VA and their daughter Emma; a sister, Michelle (John) Barnhart of Tecumseh, MI and their children: Owen, Chase, and Sophia; someone dear to his heart, Amber Carper of Grayson, KY and her daughter Ava Kate; Connor’s mother, Skyler Earnheart of Flatwoods, KY; and a host of extended family and friends. Jordan never met a stranger and was beloved by all who knew him.
A funeral service will be held at 10 A.M. on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Flatwoods Church of Christ in Flatwoods, KY with Minister Mark Day officiating. Burial will follow at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Russell, KY.
Visitation will be 5 P.M. – 8 P.M. on Friday, August 27, 2021, and one hour before the service on Saturday, August 28, 2021, from 9 A.M. - 10 A.M. at the church.
