Joseph Rookie Caskey

Joseph “Rookie” Caskey, 32, of Raceland, KY; passed away peacefully after a sudden illness on February 11, 2022, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY with his family by his side. Joseph was born on July 22, 1989, in Pensacola, FL and is the son of Rick Smith of Ashland, KY and Melissa and Joseph Hoback of Raceland, KY. Joseph is preceded in death by two honorary brothers: Cordell Earl and Chad Marshall. Joseph was a tattoo artist at Bad Buddha for eleven years. He loved riding motorcycles and spending time with his friends and family. In addition to his parents, Joseph is survived by his daughters that he loved so much, Marleigh and Salem Caskey of Raceland, KY; a brother, Nicholas Caskey of Raceland, KY; three sisters, Daniella Benge of Westwood, KY, Cassandra (Dustin) Dixon of Four Oaks, NC, and Oakley Caskey of Lexington, KY; grandparents, Greg and Marsha Deskins of Huntington, WV; his best friend and mother of his children, Haley Martin; his seven honorary brothers, Mitch Pritchard, John Stephens, Carl Lee, Kevin Steele, Nathan Evans, Derek Payne, and Michael Prince; four nieces: Abbie, Lynnley, Felix, and Ava; four nephews: Kaiden, Dylan, Brayden, and Maverick; and a host of extended family and friends. The family has entrusted Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY with the arrangements.
