Josephine Gear Clark

Josephine Gear Clark, 88, of Ashland, KY, passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2015 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY.   Mrs. Clark was born on November 5, 1927 in London, England; a daughter of the late William and Margaret Medrick Gear.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Douglas Clark; two brothers:  Jimmy Gear and William “Bill” Gear, and her twin sister, Mary Davis.   Mrs. Clark was a retired guard for the Boyd County Jail.   She will be sadly missed by her children:  Mark Dean Clark, and his wife, Christi Diane, of Swansboro, NC; Julie Ann Cofield, and her husband, Jimmy Ray, of Ashland, KY; and Mary Jane Moore, also of Ashland, KY; five grandchildren: Jaclyn Olivia Adkins, Courtney Danielle Clark, Aaron Michael Hicks, Melanie Dawn Tierney, and Timothy Douglass Clark; two step grandchildren: Alexis Ivonne Cofield and Isaiah Ezekiel Cofield; 6 great grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends.   The visitation will be from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY.  Her final resting place will be Hither Green Cemetery in London, England, next to her twin sister, Mary.  Condolences may be expressed for the family at www.baileyfamilyfuneralhome.com.
