Juanita "Babaw" Moore Gartin, 82, of Greenup KY, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2017, at her home in Wurtland, KY, surrounded by her loved ones.
Mrs. Gartin was born on April 2, 1935 in Greenup, KY, a daughter of the late Elder John W. and Lillian Bays Moore. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James "Peanut" Nolan Gartin, a son, John David Gartin Sr., two grandchildren; Josy Triplett and Jarred Bennett, two brothers Carl Moore and Kern Moore, and her sister, Kathleen Grubb.
Juanita worked as a cook at McClures Restaurant in Ashland, KY, and had a passion for quilting. Mrs. Gartin was of the Old Regular Baptist faith.
She is survived by her two daughters: Joan and Teddy Triplett of Wurtland, KY, and Gail and Bob Allen of Deering, OH; her sister Daphane Nelson of Wurtland, KY; her daughter-in-law, Penny Gartin of Wurtland, KY; 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral service will be at 1pm on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY, with Elders Ira Adkins Jr. and Bobby Potter officiating. Burial will be in Little Rosa Cemetery in Greenup, KY.
