Julianne Blevins

Julianne Layman Blevins, 69, of Ashland, KY, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.

Ms. Blevins was born August 5, 1954, in Ashland, KY to the late Joseph Gilbert “Gilley” Layman and Garnet Mae Prose Layman.

In addition to her parents, Julianne was preceded in death by a brother, Gil Layman.

A jubilant and compassionate soul, she found profound joy in the beauty of music, animals, and her Christian faith. As a thoughtful writer and collector, she exuded a deep sentimental nature, always giving generously to others. Her immense pride in her children and grandchildren was evident in every aspect of her life.

Julianne is survived by her loving partner of forty years, Morton Sprouse of Ashland, KY; two daughters, Melodi (Brian) Ricks of Granite Shoals, TX, and Andrea (Dustin) McKnight of Ashland, KY; four grandchildren: Brycen Ricks, Travis Cox, Sarah McKnight, and T.J. McKnight; a brother, Joseph (Pam) Layman of Orlando, FL; and a host of extended family and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 2 P.M. on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Ashland Cemetery in Ashland, KY. 

The family has entrusted Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY with the arrangements.
