Larry Dale Smith

Larry Dale Smith, 56, of Flatwoods, KY passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2016 at his residence. Mr. Smith was born on May 10, 1960 in Ironton, OH; a son of the late Winfred Smith and Joyce Moore Craft.  He was also preceded in death by a brother, Sam Smith; and a sister, LaNetta Jean Porter. He was a crane operator and shear operator for Mansbach Metal Co. and a member of the United Steel Workers Local #7054. Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Heather Salyers Smith of Flatwoods, KY; four sons: Larry Smith, JR., Joey Smith, Scott Smith, and Michael "Mickie" Smith, all of Ashland, KY; a daughter, Jillian "Jill" Smith of Ashland, KY; two step-daughters: Amber Vaughn Mathew of Texas, and Ashley Wells of Greenup, KY, two grandchildren; two sisters: Peggy (Danny) Smith Thacker of Copperas Cove, Texas, and Victoria (Duane) Craft-Taylor of South Point, OH; a sister-in-law, Cheri Smith of Russell, KY; a special friend, David Porter of Barboursville, WV; and his dog, Ginger. A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods, KY with Rev. Lloyd L. Bailey officiating.
