Leland K. Creed, 88, of Russell, KY, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2014 at Trinity Station Retirement Community in Flatwoods, KY.
Mr. Creed was born on February 5, 1926 in Cedarville, Ohio, a son of the late Herschel and Clara Stultz Creed.
He was also preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Carolyn Swisher Creed.
Mr. Creed was a retired systems analyst for Ashland Oil, a WW II Naval Veteran, and a graduate of Ohio State University. He had also attended Notre Dame University and Cornell University during his time in the Navy.
Mr. Creed focused the most on his family. He never complained and was always concerned about the “other person.” He was an outgoing individual. He enjoyed golf, bowling, and Ohio State Buckeye football. He was a member of the B.P.O.E. No. 177 of Ironton, OH.
Mr. Creed is survived by a daughter, Deborah Creed of Frankfort, KY; a son Jeffrey Creed and his wife Valerie of Russell, KY; two grandchildren: Casey Sharp and her husband, Phillip, of Russell, KY, and Kristin Winchester, and her husband, Jerry Lee, of Danville, KY; three great grandchildren: Ethan Sharp, Abby Sharp, and Bode Winchester; and two step great grandchildren: Skylar and Jeron Winchester.
The graveside service will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens at Flatwoods, KY with Rev. Lloyd L. Bailey officiating. The visitation will be from 11 AM until 12:30 PM at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY.
