Linnie E Chandler

Linnie E. Chandler, 75, of Flatwoods, KY, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY.

Linnie was born September 10, 1948, in Russell, KY, to the late Alonzo Sergent and Wanda Fay Wilburn Sergent.

In addition to her parents, Linnie was preceded in death by her husband, John Burton Chandler; a son George R. Rice III; a brother, Elwood Sergent; and four sisters: Arbelle Douglas, Mickie Perkins, Dorothy Perkins, and Kay Isaacs.

Linnie was a heavy equipment operator for Perkins Excavating and was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by a son, Lonnie Rice of Pedro, OH; her daughter, Paula Rice of Flatwoods, KY; four grandchildren: Joshua Rice, Kristen Perkins, Joe Rice, and Sam Perkins; two brothers, Johnny (Patricia) Sergent of Ironton, OH and Paul Sergent of Wurtland, KY; two sisters, Patricia Spears, and Anita Litteral both of Argillite, KY; and a host of extended family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1 P.M. on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY, with Dan Egnor and Sam Perkins officiating. Burial will follow at Palmer Cemetery in Russell, KY.

Visitation will be from 11 A.M. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
