Louise Short Salyers

Louise Short Salyers, 93, of Flatwoods, KY, passed away on Monday, March 15, 2021, at Oakmont Manor in Flatwoods, KY. Mrs. Salyers was born, March 31, 1927, in Ashland, KY, to the late John A. and Minervah Kirk Short. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Salyers was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Salyers and several brothers and sisters. Louise was a cook at Russell High School in Russell, KY and a custodian at Advance Elementary in Flatwoods, KY. She enjoyed sewing, making quilts, and going to church. Louise attended Community Tabernacle Church in Flatwoods, KY. Mrs. Louise is survived by her son, Clifton (Judy) Salyers of Flatwoods, KY; three grandchildren, Mark Salyers, Barb (Rusty) Scott, and Terry (Cathy) Henry; five great-grandchildren, Mason Salyers, Nick (Sara) Scott, Ashli (Micah) Bowling, Austin (Bailey) Pemberton, and April Pemberton; three great-great-grandchildren, Jase Bowling, Mercy Bowling, and Brynlee Pemberton; and a host of extended family and friends. A funeral service will be held at 12 P.M. on Thursday, March 18, 2021, at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY with Bro. J.R. Hampton officiating. Burial will follow at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Russell, KY.
