Milton David Gray

Milton David Gray, Sr., 80, of Raceland, KY, passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at Trinity Station Retirement Community in Flatwoods, KY. He was born September 8, 1941, in Ferriday, Louisiana to the late Ezra Preston Gray and Mattie Jones Gray. David was the youngest of ten children. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by four brothers: Levon, Albert, Hugh, and Robert Gray; and five sisters: Bernice Blair Mills, Doris Arnold, Earline Burkhalter, Verline Beard, and Mary Lyn Bramblett. He is survived by his loving wife of twenty-five years, Joyce Richie Gray of Raceland, KY; three sons, David (Sherry) Gray Jr. of Clayton, LA, Thomas Scott Gray of Vidalia, LA, and Jonathan Dean (Candice) Gray of Dickson, TN; sister-in-law, Rosalie Tyler Gray of Jonesville, LA; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. David attended Northeast University in Monroe, LA. His early career included working for Sears and Roebuck and Youngs Funeral Home in Ferriday, LA. He retired from Ashland Pipeline Company, a subsidiary of Ashland Oil, Inc. in 1996 with thirty-two years of service. During his career with Ashland, he held various positions including: Gauger, District Supervisor, and Division Superintendent in Ferriday, LA. At the time of his retirement, he was District Supervisor in Grayson, KY. After retirement, he worked as a Real Estate Agent for Ross Realty and as a Welding Inspector for Blackhawk Engineering. A graveside service will be held at 1 P.M. on Friday, February 11, 2022, at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Russell, KY with Rev. J.R. Gullett officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601).
