Minnie Grizzle Chandler

Minnie Louise Grizzle Chandler, 93, of Flatwoods, KY passed away on Monday, November 14, 2016 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY, surrounded by her family.   Mrs. Chandler was born on March 11, 1923, in Ashland, KY, a daughter of the late Samuel Malcolm and Lilia Alice O'Bryan Grizzle.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, S.L. Chandler, three brothers: Leonard Malcolm Grizzle, Samuel Grizzle, and Lawrence Grizzle; three sisters: Sylvia York, Marguerett Mullins, and Nina Beatrice May.   Mrs. Chandler was a "Rosie the Riveter" during WWII.  She was a welder for Sylvania and of the Christian faith.   She is survived by her sons:  Roy E. (Sandra) Grizzle, D.L. (Nancy) Chandler, Sr., and David A. Chandler, Sr., all of Flatwoods, KY; 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, and a sister, Francis Grizzle of Desert Palms, CA.   The funeral will be at 1 PM on Friday, November 18, 2016, at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY with Rev. Lloyd L. Bailey and Rev. J.E. Smith officiating.  Burial will be in O'Bryan Cemetery in Russell, KY.   The visitation will be from 11 am until funeral time on Friday, at the funeral home.
