Patricia Kaye Hensley Melvin

Patricia Kaye Hensley Melvin, 69, of Flatwoods, KY, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY. Mrs. Melvin was born February 4, 1951, in Flatwoods, KY, to the late John David and Lucille Evelyn Owens Hensley. In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by two sisters, Olive Bledsoe and Barbara Tackett. Mrs. Melvin was a retired RN from Home Health Care. She enjoyed Country Line Dancing, the Two Step, and East Coast Swing. Most of all, she loved her children and grandchildren. Patricia was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Flatwoods, KY. Mrs. Melvin is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Jesse W. Melvin of Flatwoods, KY; two daughters, Yvonne Denise Melvin of Flatwoods, KY and Michele Lea (Roger) Rose of Greenup, KY; four grandchildren: Jessica (Ben) Headford, Brandon Kiser, Lorna Rose, and Holly Rose; one great-grandchild soon to be born, Lucille; and a host of extended family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 2 P.M. on Saturday, July 25, 2020, at Grace Baptist Church in Flatwoods, KY, with Pastor Marvin Boggs and Rodney Vance officiating. The Nurse Honor Guard of the River Cities will be performing a Nightingale Tribute on Saturday at the church. The committal will be at 10 A.M. on Monday, July 27, 2020, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East in Greenup, KY. The family has entrusted Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY, with the arrangements.
