Paul Samuel Blevins

Paul Samuel Blevins, 90, of Argillite, KY, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY.

Mr. Blevins was born December 7, 1933, in Floyd County, KY, to the late Sam Blevins and Oma Burton Blevins.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his two brothers, Edward Blevins and James “Tom” Blevins; four sisters: Rita Blackburn, Vean McCalvin Hall, Glenna Lebeau, and Joann Miller; and a great-grandson, Randall Paul Blevins.

Paul was a self-employed brick mason and a Kentucky Colonel. He enjoyed fox hunting and was an excellent gardener and farmer. He attended Danleyton Baptist Church.  

Paul is survived by his loving wife of sixty-four years, Dreama Dawn Gibbs Blevins of Argillite, KY; three sons, Paul Kevin (Rose) Blevins of Cary, NC, Mark Allen Blevins (Stephanie Moore) of Danleyton, KY; and Randall Scott (Gloria) Blevins of Argillite, KY; eight grandchildren: Latisa Washington, Kayla Blevins, Dylan Blevins, Dreama (Michael) Laney, Scotty (Talonna) Blevins, Amanda Hess, Jamie Evanoff, Kristina (Mike) Wall; thirteen great-grandchildren: Brody, Leland, Madilyn, Caden, Daniel, Dominique, Isaiah, Tyler, Ireland, Israel, Priscilla, Adaline, and Hazelena; a sister Wanda (Gobel) Copley of Vero Beach, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1 P.M. on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY, with Scott Blevins officiating. Burial will follow at Blevins Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 11 A.M. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
