Pheaba Jane Yates

Pheaba Jane Yates, 95 of Midway, TN, passed away on Monday, November 7, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her loved ones. Ms. Yates was born November 29, 1926, in Flatwoods, KY, to the late Eldid “Doc” and Lou Ranie “Aunt Lou” Reffett Salyers. In addition to her parents, Ms. Yates was preceded in death by her loving husband, Delmas Paul Yates; a daughter Wilma Lou Yates; two brothers, Ernest and James Salyers; and three sisters: Ora McKee, Minnie Akers, and Gracie Duty. Pheaba was a homemaker who loved her family. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pheaba enjoyed going to church, baking, eating, and giving orders, especially to Jenny. She was of the Christian Faith. Ms. Yates is survived by three children, a son, Paul Eugene (Hazel) Yates of Rush, KY; two daughters, Virginia Lee “Jenny” Yates of Midway, TN and Sonda Sue (Samuel) Church of Mohawk, TN; four grandchildren: Tamara Lynn Cutshall, Joshua Ryan Yates, Samuel Paul Church, and Jarrod Alan Yates; ten great-grandchildren: Zachary Lykins, Stephen Henry, Alexis Cutshall, Asher Church, Avery Yates, Jaylyn Cutshall, Gunner Yates, Lorelai Church, Chloe Yates, and Matthew Yates; and a host of extended family and friends. A graveside service will be held at 10 A.M. on Friday, November 11, 2022, at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Russell, KY with Rev. Clifton Salyers officiating. Visitation will be from 6 P.M. – 8 P.M. on Thursday, November 10, 2022, at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY.   Condolences can be expressed at www.baileyfamilyfuneralhome.com.
